Indoor Air Quality

In many cases, the air that you are breathing can be dirtier inside than it is outside. High levels of pollutants such as viruses, bacteria, spores, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, smoke, and dust inside your home and office can manifest itself through symptoms such as allergies, difficulty breathing, headaches, drowsiness, nausea and red eyes. Low levels of oxygen can also develop because of poor ventilation.

In some cases, high levels of indoor pollutants and/or low levels of oxygen have resulted in death. The problems associated with these symptoms became so frequent that the phrase Sick Building Syndrome was coined to describe the buildings with the problem. The need for clean, fresh air, with proper levels of humidity created a need for INDOOR AIR QUALITY.

STOKLEY’S SERVICES addressed the growing need for INDOOR AIR QUALITY with: Electronic Air Cleaners designed to filter out up to 95% of particles down to 1/100th of a micron. Particles such as smoke dust, viruses, bacteria, pollen, and other airborne pollutants can be filtered out whenever you operate your fan on your forced air conditioning and heating system. A side benefit of the Electronic Air Cleaners is that it helps keep your system cleaner and operating more efficiently, this in turn helps your system last longer.

Humidifiers are used to the winter months to help maintain a proper level of moisture inside that will reduce static electricity. As you heat your home and office you are drying the air inside. One of the first signs that your home or office is too dry is the presence of static electricity. You may also notice that you nasal passages, tear ducts, and/or you mouth is very dry which will leave you susceptible to colds and influenza.

De-humidifiers are sometimes used in the areas of high humidity to get rid of excess moisture. Too much humidity inside promotes the growth of mold and mildew. If you’re constantly breathing mold and mildew the affects can be devastating and in some cases deadly. If you see mold or mildew coming out of your heating and air conditioning system, on you ceiling, walls, or curtains call us immediately.

Ultra-violet light systems have been installed in HVAC systems to not only kill existing mold and mildew in your HVAC system, but to prevent possible future growth as well. U/V light systems even help eliminate odors from pets, paints, glues, and foods to name just a few.

Energy Recovery Ventilators flush out stale, polluted air and brings in fresh oxygenated air with very little lose of conditioned air. In buildings that were built highly insulated often have poor ventilation and there tends to be low levels of oxygen and high levels of carbon dioxide. This is obviously a bad environment for humans and pets as we need oxygen to breath and high levels of carbon dioxide can promote the growth of mold and mildew. Worse still, the combination of low oxygen levels and high carbon dioxide levels can be deadly.

Programmable Thermostats can turn your heating and air conditioning system on and off as well as monitor the air cleaner, , humidifier, de-humidifier.
